(Sub) American Idol Season 10 finalist Tim Halperin has independently released a brand new music video of his original song, "The Last Song," funded entirely by fans. Halperin, an unsigned singer/songwriter, took the initiative on his own to partner with a crew of filmmakers and dozens of volunteers in Fort Worth, Texas, to create the video using a budget of $8,000, completely donated by online supporters. Halperin performed his original 'The Last Song' for judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson on American Idol, earning a spot in the show's top 24 and the first round of live episodes that aired in March 2011.He has made the song available as a free download at http://www.TimHalperin.com and will include it as a track on his new full length album, scheduled for independent release in September. "The video for 'The Last Song' captures my creative process through symbolic images and a unique storyline," Halperin said. "The response from my fans – more than $8,000 in donations – has been overwhelming. This is truly a testament to the power of independent collaboration, apart from a major label or American Idol, and I'm excited for everyone to see the finished product." The release of "The Last Song" video is just one of the ways Halperin has independently capitalized on the momentum from his time on American Idol. He launched a new Web site, http://www.TimHalperin.com, and has been blogging about his post-Idol experiences. Halperin also has been touring the country playing acoustic sets for crowds, and serving as a regular guest on the nationally syndicated Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show through a segment entitled "Idol Got It Wrong."Check out the video here
