Ema, a/k/a the new project from ex-GOWNS singer/guitarist Erika M. Anderson, released her debut album Past Life Martyred Saints on May 10th via Souterrain Transmissions and has announced Fall tour dates to support the release. She and her band will support Wild Beasts beginning October 7th at Neptune in Seattle, WA, and continuing through October 13th at The Echoplex in Los Angeles, CA. EMA will then support CSS and MEN starting October 21st at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA, and running through October 30th at La Zona Rosa in Austin, TX, including an October 22nd show at Webster Hall in New York, NY, as part of the 2011 CMJ Music Marathon.
She will also headline Holocene in Portland, OR, on September 8th as part of Musicfest NW; The Independent in San Francisco, CA, on October 12th; and the Casbah in San Diego, CA, on October 14th. A co-headlining show with Washed Out at The Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, AZ, is confirmed for October 15th as well.
Ema can also currently be found on SPIN's free tribute album to Nirvana's Nevermind, Newermind, covering "Endless, Nameless."
