EMI sent over word that Amos Lee will release an exclusive eight-song iTunes collection, entitled Live From SoHo, on August 16th. The release — recorded at New York City's Apple Store Soho on February 22nd, 2011, and featuring Lee backed by his touring band — includes four songs from Lee's current album Mission Bell ("Windows Are Rolled Down," "El Camino," "Violin," and "Cup of Sorrow"), as well as live renditions of tracks from Lee's 2006 album Supply and Demand ("Night Train") and his 2005 self-titled debut ("Arms of A Woman"). In addition, the collection includes two live covers: Ween's "Buenos Tardes Amigo" and Neil Young's "Are You Ready For The Country."
In other news, Lee will perform his latest single, "Flower" — which is currently ascending the Triple A radio chart, and whose beautiful animated video has just been added to VH1's playlist — on Live! With Jimmy Kimmel on August 18th.
In addition, on August 9th, Yahoo! Music will feature Lee as part of its Maximum Performance series with five tracks of unseen live footage that can be viewed at http://music.yahoo.com/.
Lee's his first single, "Windows Are Rolled Down," which has spent 34 consecutive weeks on the BDS Triple A Chart, peaking at No. 1 on May 2nd, has been nominated by radio programmers for the 2011 "Triple A Song Of The Year" at the FMQB Triple A Conference in August.
In August, Lee will embark on a series of dates featuring special guests Calexico (who perform on Mission Bell), including a show at the Orpheum in Los Angeles on August 20th. The album was produced by Calexico's co-founder Joey Burns. Lee will also perform at the LL Bean Festival on July 30th, the Newport Folk Festival on July 31st (which will be broadcast live on NPR.org),
