(Gibson) Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye have filmed a video in which they cover the classic ballad "Blue Moon." Why? It's to advertise football team Manchester City FC's new home kit. "Blue Moon" is City fans' own anthem, often sung at matches. Liam Gallagher (and brother Noel) are both ardent Manchester City fans; other guitar-playing fans include Johnny Marr and The Cult's Billy Duffy.
The video shows frontman Liam kissing the badge on the new shirt of his beloved football team, before he and Beady Eye launch into the song. Their version of the track also mixes into their new single "The Beat Goes On," which will be released on July 18. more on this story
