(Gibson) Elton John, the original rocket man, made a special wake-up call message for the astronauts on NASA's final mission. The crew of the shuttle Atlantis, who took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, received a surprise message from Elton.According to the Daily Express, he said: "Good morning, Atlantis, this is Elton John. We wish you much success on your mission and a huge thank you to all the men and women at NASA who worked on the shuttle for the last three decades."
The crew then heard a few bars of Elton John's 1972 track "Rocket Man," according to Sky News. more on this story
