(Atlantic) Martin Solveig's hit single "Hello" has been certified gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000. Having peaked at #1 on both iTunes' "Top Dance Songs Chart" and Billboard's "Hot Dance/Club Play Songs" ranking, the track – which sees the world-renowned French DJ collaborating with Canadian electropop combo Dragonette – is Solveig's biggest US hit to date.
What's more, "Hello" has spent more time in the top 10 on Billboard's "Dance Airplay" chart than any other song this year and is rapidly becoming a crossover summer sensation. The song is now bulleting its way towards the top 40 on Billboard's "Hot 100," while additionally reaching the top 20 of the "Pop Songs" ranking of mainstream top 40 radio airplay detections as measured by Nielsen BDS. Furthermore, "Hello" is among the top 40 on Billboard's "Digital Songs" chart spanning the week's top-downloaded songs across all genres.
"Hello" is already a multi-platinum chart-topping success in Europe as well as across the entirety of North America, having sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. The song has been certified for double platinum sales in Australia, and has been certified for platinum sales in both Canada and Italy. Furthermore, the song is holding steady at #1 on Mexico's overall iTunes "Top Songs" chart, and has hit #1 on Mexico's Anglo radio chart and #2 on Mexico's overall radio chart.
As if all that weren't enough, "Hello" is also a worldwide YouTube blockbuster. The track's companion video clip – shot on location at the Roland Garros French Tennis Open in front of 12,000 spectators, and featuring cameos from real international tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Gaël Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, and Mathilde Johansson – has now logged over 50 million views. The creative clip, which has been added into rotation on both MTV and VH1, was recently named as "Video of the Day" on VH1's Morning Buzz, while also being featured on MTV's popular The Seven.
