(Gibson) Larry Carlton, a.k.a. "Mr. 335," is taking a musical journey to the City of Brotherly Love on his new album. Larry Carlton Plays the Sound of Philadelphia is a tribute to the legendary songwriting/producing team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and features Carlton's versions of classics like "Back Stabbers," "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "I'll Be Around." The Sound of Philadelphia features a host of guest musicians, as well: Paul Shaffer (organ), Tony DeSare (piano), Tommy Byrnes (rhythm guitar), Christopher Jackson (bass), Bill LaBounty (vocals), Andrea Valentini (drums), Mark Douthit (saxophone) and others.
