(PR) The English Beat will perform a benefit concert with special guests for the Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) on Saturday, February 12 at Zanzibar in Santa Monica. Love Hope Strength, which was co-founded by The Alarm's Mike Peters, is the world's leading rock n roll cancer awareness foundation, raising funds through benefit concerts as far-reaching as Machu Picchu, Wales, Australia, Mt. Everest, The Empire State Building, Mt. Fuji, Mt. Kilimanjaro and now at the beach town of Santa Monica, California.
"I was there for the Love Hope Strength kick-off when we performed the first-ever concert atop the Empire State Building in New York," says Dave Wakeling, English Beat lead singer and guitarist. "Since then they have done so much to provide cancer care around the globe, that as soon as I was approached about this show, it made me think of them."
"Love Hope Strength benefit concerts have included some of the world's highest elevations," says James Chippendale, Co-founder of Love Hope Strength. "It will be great to kick back, relax and organize a concert at sea level for once."
Presented by The Cool Ruler Productions, the English Beat's February 12 performance will raise funds to assist Love Hope Strength with support and education for early cancer treatments and individual needs assistance.
"The reason I chose to throw an event for Love Hope and Strength is because I want to help and make a difference for people who are living with debilitating diseases," says Hayley King, President of The Cool Ruler. Hayley, who is the daughter of an Academy Award-winning producer adds, "I was inspired by a very good friend of mine who is suffering from MS. Watching her day-to-day struggles really makes me think of how much I take for granted. I want to do what I can and make a difference for the people who are in need." Hayley started the Cool Ruler in order to produce events that will benefit good causes and this is her kick-off event. To learn more about the Cool Ruler, search "The Cool Ruler" on Facebook.
