The Oak Ridge Boys Vs Oprah Winfrey
01/19/2011
.
(Webster) Late night host David Letterman addressed the new Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on a recent episode with a video spoof featuring The Oak Ridge Boys. According to Letterman, those who are not willing to pay extra to access OWN, should instead tune-in and watch the new celebrity network, OBN, The Oak Ridge Boys Network. His spoof included a classic video of The Oaks singing the infamous line, "Giddy up ooom poppa omm poppa mow mow," from the group's 1981 hit single, "Elvira." 2011 marks the 30th anniversary of the song, and The Oaks are still performing it regularly on tour across the U.S. and Canada about 150 days each year.
