(Gibson) ThisisStaffordshire.co.uk is reporting that the recent bid to erect statues honoring Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has been rejected. Council members from the city of Stoke-on-Trent rejected a petition to honor the two rock heroes who were born in the city. Councilor Matt Wilcox said that he felt the proposal was too selective."It's actually quite selfish to focus on these two specific artists," he said. "And I think there should be a more diverse monument to the range of that this city has produced." more on this story
