U2's Spider-Man Musical Hits Another Snag

(Gibson) The opening for the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has been delayed again, this time in order to "fine-tune" the production and work on a new ending. As reported by Billboard.com, the show is now set to make its official debut on March 15.The delay marks the fourth instance in which the opening for the music has been postponed. "We are looking for the extraordinary here, we are nearly there," said Bono and The Edge in a joint statement, explaining the decision to make additional tweaks to the production. The U2 frontman and guitarist, who have written the score for the show, are reportedly writing additional music as well. Four actors have been injured in preview performances of the musical, which, at a cost of $65 million, is Broadway's most-expensive ever. Co-producer Michael Cohl promised the latest delay would constitute the "final postponement."
