Lemmy will attend the Los Angeles premiere for the new documentary about the legendary Motorhead singer and bassist: "LEMMY: 49% Motherf**ker, 51% Son Of A Bitch." The premiere has been confirmed for Thursday, Jan. 13th, 7 p.m. at The Vista Theatre.
Aside from Lemmy we were told to expect numerous other rockers, actors and stars paying homage to the legendary rock icon.
The L.A. premiere of "LEMMY" serves as the official U.S. theatrical launch of the film. The following day, the movie begins showing at select cities across the country. A full list of cities and screening dates is below.
The DVD, a-two disc set packed with more than 3 hours of bonus features, will be released Feb. 15 via Damage Case Films/Megaforce and will be available for digital download and on BluRay.
Filmed over more than three years, and directed by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, "LEMMY" features appearances by artists spanning the musical spectrum, from Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Slash to Henry Rollins, Peter Hook (New Order/Joy Division), Mick Jones (The Clash) and Jarvis Cocker. Reviewing the film at the Sydney Film Festival in June, Variety Magazine remarked, simply: "'LEMMY' rocks!" Classic Rock Magazine recently called the film a "heart-warming, life-affirming thing of beauty."
In addition, Motφrhead is currently celebrating its 35th anniversary. The Grammy-winning band will release its new album, "The Wφrld is Yours," on Feb. 8, and kicks off its 2011 North American tour on Jan. 25 in Anaheim, California.
