U2 For Glastonbury
02/25/2011
.
(Gibson) The rumors that U2 would headline 2011's Glastonbury festival practically began as soon as the Irish rockers were forced to pull out of the 2010 edition of the event (due to Bono's back surgery). But finally, the band have confirmed their appearance at this year's festival.Guitarist The Edge announced the news by appearing on a video broadcast during the NME Awards on Wednesday."Congratulations to Michael and Emily [Eavis] and the rest of the team for the continued success of Glastonbury," he said. "It's more a way of life than a festival. "I have to say there is something really special and iconic about that stage. So, we're all looking forward to coming back to pick up where I left off. U2 will be playing on June 24. And we're so excited to get to play in front of the world's greatest festival audience. We'll see you there!" more on this story
