Dino Cazeres's Asesino are going South.... south of the border. U.S. fans will be able to catch them this Spring. The band's Mexican tour kicks off on February 26 in Saltillo, Coahuila and concluding in Leon, Mexico on March 6.
"It's gotten worse, but it's always been going on," states Dino Cazeres referring Mexico's wave of murders that have intensified to epidemic proportions in the past few years. Cazares, who founded Asesino (translated: "The Assassin") with bassist/vocalist Maldito X (Tony Campos) and drummer Sadistico (Emilio Marquez). "This is something we've talked about in Brujeria forever."
When Fear Factory founder Cazares split from Brujeria, the Latin-American Mexicution squad he was a founding member of, he was quick to set up Asesino, a similarly Spanish growling new band who took their grindcore infused death metal a step further. Asesino's first two albums: Corridos de Muerte (2002) and Cristo Satanico (2006) became underground classics.
After returning from their Mexican and U.S. dates Asesino will begin recording their third record entitled El Segunda Venida (translated "The Second Coming"). It continues the saga of the character of Asesino, an assassin betrayed by his former employer, is put to death. Once in el infierno or hell, he makes a deal with the Devil to return to Earth and get revenge on his enemies.
