Monkees Reunite For 45th Anniversary Tour

(Gibson) The reunited Monkees (minus guitarist and songwriter Michael Nesmith) will play 10 U.K. concerts this spring to celebrate their 45th anniversary. The TV show that launched the band debuted 45 years ago, in 1966, on NBC in the U.S.Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork have all signed on for the reunion tour. Best known for hits like "I'm a Believer, "Last Train to Clarksville" and "Daydream Believer," The Monkees were a favorite of John Lennon who likened them to The Marx Brothers. The show won two Emmy awards and The Monkees records outsold The Rolling Stones and The Beatles combined in 1967. more on this story
