(Gibson) Academy Award-winning composer John Barry, perhaps best-known for arranging Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme," has died from a heart attack in New York. He was 77.Born in Yorkshire, England, John Barry Prendergast first made his name as bandleader of the John Barry Seven, according to BBC News. As well as arranging the famous James Bond theme, he composed scores for 11 movies in the series including Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice and A View to a Kill. But Barry was more than a Bond composer, winning five Academy Awards – two for Born Free, and the rest for The Lion in Winter, Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves. more on this story
