Mastodon Songs Video Game

12/07/2011
.
Mastodon provide seven songs to the latest downloadable content for the first-person shooter video game Resistance 3.

Releasing to the PlayStation Network yesterday, Dec. 6th, Mastodon will be the only artist featured in the Resistance 3 Brutality Pack. Their music will become the score as player's battle against the deadly Chimera aliens.

Says Ted Price, President and CEO of Insomniac Games: "I'm a longtime Mastodon fan. These guys are masters of their craft and when you see them play live its mind blowing. They bring raw intensity and incredible energy to everything they do. Their chugging roar is a perfect fit for Resistance and especially for the Brutality Pack where it's you, a sledgehammer, and some very, very hungry Chimera. We're sincerely honored that Mastodon is now a part of the Resistance universe."

The seven songs included in the Resistance 3 Brutality Pack include three songs from Mastodon's new album The Hunter: "Spectrelight," "Black Tongue," and "Dry Bone Valley," plus "The Ruiner" - a bonus track that appears on The Hunter Deluxe Edition. Also featured are "Crystal Skull" and "Circle of Cysquatch" from 2006's Blood Mountain and "Deathbound," a previously unreleased track from 2009's Crack the Skye sessions.
