Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse "The Devil" Hughes' Boots Electric have released a new video for the single "Boots Electric Theme".According to the announcement, the clip is a comedic, raunchy 70's slant on a handful of classic Hollywood films. From "Pump Friction" and "Forrest Hump" to "The Bang Over," the video is chock full of more puns that you can shake a stick at. Watch it here
The song comes from Honkey Kong, Hughes' first solo outing, to be released on September 20th by Dangerbird Records.
Honkey Kong was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Depeche Mode) and co-written with legendary keyboardist Money Mark, best known for his many collaborations with the Beastie Boys. With their guidance, Hughes involved himself in every aspect of the production, from flourishes of engineering to architecting an overall vision. On the sweat-drenched electro swells of the album's first single, "Boots Electric Theme," groove-y keyboards slide under vibrant vocal banter between Hughes and Brody Dalle [The Distillers] before the anthemic chorus kicks in. Honkey Kong is not short on guest appearances; in addition to Dalle, Killswitch Engage singer Howard Jones, Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen and Juliette Lewis add fire to Boots' flair.
