(Gibson) You'd have to be delusional to turn down a gig opening for the biggest metal band on the planet, Metallica, right? The Times of India is reporting that Metallica were in talks with several Bollywood production houses to serve as the opening act for their upcoming, first-ever shows in India, only to get turned down by Ranbir Kapoor's, Rockstar, which features music by A.R. Rahman. The producers of Rockstar apparently turned down the offer because the score for the film is mainly "Sufi rock," which they thought would be impossible to place next to the metal giants. Just a small technically, don't you think? Metallica bass slinger Robert Trujillo recently talked about the group's plans to play India in an interview with the Inland Empire Weekly magazine. "We are going to play India in October," he said. "That should be interesting, playing a place we never thought in our wildest dreams we'd [go] to play. It's an honor for all of us that we get to be a part of that whole music scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert!" more on this story
