(Gibson) Eric Johnson, has taught a special master class for the iPad app, On the Music Path.Over the course of this 70-minute lesson, shot in high-definition video by Academy award-winning cinematographer Alan Kozlowski, Johnson teaches students how to play his celebrated tune, "Cliffs of Dover" (which he recorded on a Gibson ES-335), and breaks down the essentials of his guitar style, including hybrid rhythmic picking, tonal effects, arpeggios in solos and melodic choices.
The app includes more than 25 play-along sessions accompanied by complete notation and guitar tablature, authorized by Johnson and synchronized to his playing. Johnson breaks down "Cliffs of Dover," section by section, playing each section both at tempo and at half-speed for the first time in his career.
