The Real Tuesday Weld Premiere New Stop-Motion Video

08/16/2011
.
(TMB) The Real Tuesday Weld have premiered their new video for the song "Tear Us Apart", a stop-motion clip from their new album The Last Werewolf.

The video, which debuts this week on Mashable.com, provides viewers a third channel to appreciate this multi-faceted project. The album serves as "A Soundtrack" to the new book release of the same name by Glen Duncan; and while the video is not directly related to the book, it explores similar themes of love, loss and loneliness in a way that complements the book and album release.

"Tear Us Apart" is the first video from the new album, a unique cinematic accompaniment to the electro pulse of the song. As ever with an album by The Real Tuesday Weld, individual tracks on THE LAST WEREWOLF cover a spectrum of styles from thirties ballads through gypsy jazz, electro-swing and torch song to minimal electronica. The Last Werewolf soundtrack is both a high concept single piece and a playlist for the eclectic of ear and heart themed in the band's own genre: 'Antique Beat'. A range of influences including Gainsbourg, Chopin, Django Reinhardt, Cole Porter, Springsteen, Barry Adamson and Tom Waits hover ghostlike above the story as it develops. The album features an array of guest vocalists including Joe Coles, Marcella Puppini (Puppini Sisters), Piney Gir, and Pinkie Maclure (Pumajaw). In addition, several cuts feature dialogue from the novel, with Glen Duncan among those lending his voice talents. Watch the video here
