I had recently read a movie script where a girl returns to her hometown to see just how much she has changed. It was a basic theme really "struggle to move away, move away, find self, come back home with new perspective".

I was sitting with Daniel Tashian, a great Nashville based song writer and i was telling him about the story. Istarted playing a little figure in D and Daniel jumped all over it turning it into a great easy breezy strumming pattern. Before long, we had the chorus which seemed to combine the script story with our own experiences. For example, "walk with me over water" was an image from the script and the actual line "everywhere is home" just seemed to resonate with both of us at the time.

It was a gorgeous summer day and it felt right to sing.
