Double The Heavy Devy From Devin Townsend?

09/27/2010
.
(Gibson) Devin Townsend will probably release his next album, Ghost, as a double CD. In a series of posting on Twitter, Townsend said he had recorded 16 tracks for Ghost, and was having a hard time narrowing the track listing down. "I want to keep the ambient bits and they take up so much time... so it's either too much or not enough ambience unless it's all."

In a video update today, Townsend said, "I think I'm about 75% finished [with] Ghost, and it seems like it's gonna be a double record. The label has graciously agreed to do that."

Townsend's most recent release, Addicted, reached #2 on the U.S. Heatseekers chart and #22 on the U.S. independent albums chart. Addicted and Ghost are part of a planned four-album cycle released under The Devin Townsend Project. The first was the moody Ki, while Ghost will be released simultaneously with Deconstruction, which Townsend promises will be his heaviest, most intense album yet. - more on this story
