(Gibson) Big Shoes: Walking and Talking the Blues, the new 90-minute documentary by music filmmaker Robert Mugge starring contemporary juke joint blues band Scissormen, is hitting the big screen. The movie will premiere at the Starz Denver International Film Festival on November 5 and 6, and preview at sea on the West Coast Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise on October 20. After these initial screenings, the film will continue on to other festivals and show at various cultural institutions, including Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. Scissormen will perform at selected screenings. Big Shoes: Walking and Talking the Blues was shot during a Scissormen tour of the Midwest in February 2010 and is part road movie, part concert film, part history lesson and part state-of-the-genre report. - more on this story
