Lick Library announce the release of the definitive guide to playing American blues guitar with the launch of Steve Trovato's American Blues in 6 Weeks, a series of DVD Guitar lessons.
With a DVD for each week, the new series features expert guitar tuition covering the great blues guitarists including BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Albert Collins and Albert King.
The guitar lessons are presented by the multi stylist guitar wizard Steve Trovato. Although a world class country guitarist, he is aptly nicknamed "The Great Chameleon" because of his ability to change colours musically from country to blues to jazz and rock. Week 1: In the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan and includes: Blues scale patterns, blues phrasing, playing the 'shuffle' feel, double stops, using trills, hammer-on's and pull 's, using triplets and adding chromatic passing tones to the blues scale.Week 2: In the style of Johnny Winter and includes: Blues scale patterns, repetitious phrasing, building licks using hammer on's and pull 's, playing 'in the pocket' using triplets and using pentatonic scale sequencing to create blues licks. Week 3: In the style of Albert Collins and includes: Learn a blues scale pattern, learn a pattern for the major pentatonic scale, using double stops, shifting positions for longer licks and learn to combine scales to create great blues licks. Week 4: In the style of BB King and includes: Learn a blues scale pattern and a pattern for the major pentatonic scale, learn the famous BB King vibrato, learn bending and which notes to bend and learn to combine scales to create great blues licks. Week 5: In the style of Jimi Hendrix and includes: Learn a blues scale pattern, learn the Jimi Hendrix vibrato, learn the 'blues rake' and learn how to use phrase repetition. Week 6: In the style of Albert King and includes: Learn to shift position to create longer blues lines, learn to play multiple note bends on a single string, learn to bend in intervals and combine techniques from all other lessons in the series.
