(Gibson) Linkin Park are on track to sell between 250,000 and 260,000 copies of their new album, A Thousand Suns, according to Hits Daily Double.The sales are likely to place Linkin Park at the top of the U.S. album chart next week. A Thousand Suns, released on September 14, plays down the hip-hop and metal aspects of the band's sound in favor of a darker, more atmospheric and electronic sound, interspersed with a post-apocalyptic, Orwellian narrative. It is the band's fourth studio album, and was co-produced by vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Slayer, Johnny Cash, Metallica). - more on this story
