Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Leo Curley from Addicted To Pain tells us about "Hear N Now" from their brand new self-titled EP which is being released today. We now turn it over to for the story:This song started with a heavy riff. Just like most of our songs do. Unknown to me it was in an odd time "7" as our drummer said. He loves this song largely because of that. The jackhammer/machine gun feel of that opening riff combined with my usual disgust for whatever was going on that day in the demise of our country gave way to the opening lyric " I had much love , one proud American." Don't get me wrong I'm still one proud American. Proud and disgusted. I always swore not to get political with my music... But it applies pretty much to all politicians "no integrity all liars". Thanks to them we have a system with as much integrity as they do. The line where I reference Baretta being free used to be O.J.. Robert Blake, Orenthal James Simpson in my opinion both got away with murder because they are rich and famous. There are plenty of people you've never heard of in jail for similar crimes with less evidence. No fame, no money you go to jail. Things like this leave me disgusted. How can you respect that? Very few places to find integrity anymore. That definitely inspired the coda "lost power lost pride, no integrity all liars". I hope you find some integrity here, "hear n now". Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
