Eagle Rock has announced the release of the The Everly Brothers: The Reunion Concert – Live At The Royal Albert Hall which will include bonus documentary "Rock 'N' Roll Odyssey".When Phil Everly was asked what the most memorable moment of his career was, he recalled a special night in September of 1983, when he reunited with his brother Don onstage at the famed Royal Albert Hall. This incredible concert will now be available on DVD on September 14, courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment.
It had been over ten years since the split of this harmonious duo. The vacuum of time was felt when they hit the stage, when the magic of their music spilled over and set the crowd alight. Performing 22 beloved songs, Phil and Don caress the crowd with their pristine vocal harmonies, dancing acoustic guitars, and brilliant songwriting. This is the sound that dominated the charts of the late fifties and early sixties, and if this concert is any indication, the sound is still just as timeless and moving today.
In addition to the concert, the DVD features "Rock 'N' Roll Odyssey," a documentary that unveils the complete story of the Everly Brothers up until that point. Not only does the viewer hear the story straight from the brothers themselves, but from contributions from Linda Ronstadt, Chet Atkins, Julian and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tom Petty, Charlotte Rampling, Brian Setzer, Kenny Jones, and others. It perfectly encapsulates the career of this cherished partnership, which was renewed on this night, and continues to enjoy success to this day.
