SESAC will honor the top songwriters and publishers in the Country and Americana genres at the SESAC Nashville Music Awards, which will take place November 8, 2010 at SESAC's Nashville headquarters. The invitation-only event has established itself as one music's most popular musical gatherings of the year with standing-room-only attendance and eclectic performances from some of entertainment's top hit-makers.
The SESAC Nashville Music Awards will honor the most popular songs of the past year with special awards being presented to the Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Publisher of the Year. The event will also feature surprise performances by some of the most exciting names in Country and Americana music.
This year, SESAC will be presenting revered artist/songwriter/producer Jim Lauderdale with the "Inspiration Award" in recognition of his timeless and genre-defying music. Lauderdale has written songs for the likes of George Strait, Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, Mark Chestnutt, Dixie Chicks and Lee Ann Womack among many others. His artistic collaborations have paired him with a wide range of artists including Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley to name a few. Lauderdale, a two-time GRAMMY winner, will be on hand to accept the award.
