Court Shuts Down LimeWire

(Gibson) BBC News reports that a U.S. district court in New York has issued an injunction that in effect closes down the file-sharing website LimeWire.For the past four years, the site, owned by the Lime Group, has been in dispute with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). LimeWire visitors now see a notice that reads: "This is an official notice that LimeWire is under a court ordered injunction to stop distributing and supporting its file-sharing software. Downloading or sharing copyrighted content without authorization is illegal." - more on this story
