The National's 2010 album 'High Violet' won Best Album honors at the Q Awards in London this week. Other artists nominated in the category included Green Day, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon and Muse. The award was presented to The National by one of their heroes Bernard Sumner (New Order, Joy Division).
