Pink Floyd Might Reunite
10/19/2010
.
We touched on this yesterday in the digest but Gibson has more details today: Although Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters has said that the band will never tour again, drummer Nick Mason isn't so sure. He told the BBC, "I think it would be a very nice way for a band to gently move towards retirement, by doing shows absolutely for charity rather than for more income. In a way the best thing would be to do a number of shows and have some sort of foundation."Of course, Waters and guitarist David Gilmour performed a few Floyd classics (plus The Teddy Bears' "To Know Him is to Love Him") over the summer in support of the HOPING Foundation. As a result of that collaboration, Gilmour promised Waters that he would show up to play "Comfortably Numb" on one of Waters' tour dates. The bassist is currently on a world tour celebrating Floyd's The Wall. About a month ago, Waters put the kibosh on the idea of a tour because of Rick Wright's passing in 2008. "It's just such a shame that we didn't get around to it before Rick died," he told Rolling Stone. Waters, Gilmour, Mason and Wright did reunite in 2005 for a mini-set at Live 8. -
