Today East Coast MC Will Roush tells us about his new single "Live It Up" Feat. Chaz Mishan (Produced by the Fliptones). It's a great song with a great message! Here is the story: Close to two years ago my life was pretty much all about school and music. I had taken time off from college to record and network within the industry. I have been blessed to work with some incredibly talented people (Rock City, Stat Quo, JR Rotem, Jason Derulo) but at the same time really lost track of taking care of myself. Due to some serious health issues and my desire to graduate from college I had to decide to put music on hold for a little and focus on jumping some "temporary life hurdles" as I like to say.
Fast forward a year and a few months and I had lost over 70 pounds and completed my junior year at Babson College (shout out to all my beavers out there...pause...yea our mascot is a beaver haha). At that point I couldn't wait to get back into the studio and make some new music. I was down in Florida with my mentor Matt Schilt and we linked up with my favorite producers the Fliptones to record "LIVE IT UP." I had a lot of newfound excitement and confidence regarding my personal improvements and my goal with this song was to simply make a fun uplifting record that would also motivate me to go to gym when I was feeling lazy. The track was made for me but as I was recording it I realized it could help motivate others too. That pushed me even harder.
Fast forward to now and I have lost over 90 pounds and am going to be graduating this coming May from Babson (shout out to my beavers again). Ultimately "LIVE IT UP" is the culmination of a lot of hard work in the gym, classroom and life. My hope with this song is that it will inspire others to try and jump some of "life's temporary hurdles" and have some fun at the same time. Live it up and put your W's up.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself - right here!
