(Submitted) New Noise Santa Barbara will hold its second annual music conference and festival this fall.2nd annual event features Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation, Fitz & The Tantrums, Voxhaul Broadcast, Dr. Drew, Kevin Lyman, Ian Rogers and Many More.
The event will kick off Thursday, November 4, with An Evening with Dr. Drew ("Celebrity Rehab"/"Loveline") at the historic Arlington Theatre. Performances by Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation, produced by Nederlander Concerts at the Santa Barbara Bowl, will take place Friday, November 5.
New Noise Santa Barbara will also feature an impressive array of local and international bands and two days of compelling panels, focused on all facets of the industry.
The panel discussions will be held at Santa Barbara's Canary Hotel, while musical performances will take place at premier venues throughout downtown Santa Barbara. Topping the bill are noteworthy Los Angeles-based bands including Voxhaul Broadcast, Saint Motel, Fitz & the Tantrums and Nico Vega. Speakers at this year's conference will include Kevin Lyman (Founder, Warped Tour), Ian Rogers (CEO, Topspin Media) and Bob Becker (Owner, Fearless Records), who will share their thoughts on the current state of sound on panels ranging from the "business" of songwriting ("Hey, I wrote that!") to how artists, entrepreneurs and brands can use digital marketing to extend and cement their relationships with fans.
"New Noise 2010 will build on the great success of our inaugural event and deliver an even more memorable weekend of music," said New Noise Executive Director, Jeff Theimer, who co-founded the festival as the West Coast's answer to Austin's South By Southwest. "We're simply trying to get more music lovers to experience Santa Barbara's burgeoning music scene and listen, learn and connect with some of the music industry's finest."
