KISS Army 35th Anniversary Special
11/23/2010
.
(hennemusic) The KISS ARMY turned 35 on Sunday. November 21, 1975 marks its "unofficial" start date in Terre Haute, Indiana, when KISS played a sold-out show, thanks to the efforts of fans Bill Starkey and pal Jay Evans; the pair began contacting local radio station WVTS in an effort to get KISS music played. After being repeatedly turned down by program director Rich Dickerson, Starkey and Evans began calling WVTS claiming to be "the KISS Army." To mark the anniversary, KA co-founder Starkey was spinning KISS tunes as a guest DJ on 105.5 The River in Terre Haute, Indiana - the town where it all began. - Check it out here
