Maniac Announce U.S. Live Debut
11/12/2010
.
(Submitted) Maniac's co-frontmen Shawn Harris, formerly of Oakland based band the Matches, and Jake Grigg of Australian band Something with Numbers, return from a year recording and performing in Sydney, to Harris' hometown for a US debut headlining set at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall on November 27th. The singers eagerly bring their Sydney-lauded live show to the States. This will be Harris' first hometown appearance since the Matches' sold-out headlining show at the Fillmore in September 2009. Live, Maniac consists of five members- including Harris' sister Vanessa on keyboard and vocals- and exudes a convivial energy that Sydney crowds have been quick to adopt. The band has begun fostering this same familial ethos in America by publicizing casual jam circles with friends and fans, where they will share harmonies and polyrhythmic percussion parts; encouraging the audience to take part on the night of the live show.
