Nightwatcher had this big news for Slow Hand fans: The Eric Clapton Fan Club Magazine is reporting that the classic Derek and The Dominos 1970 album 'Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs' will be getting a 40th anniversary remastered release in three different editions in March 2011.Although track lists haven't been revealed yet, there will be a new CD remaster from the UK master tapes, a two-disc "Deluxe Edition" and a "Super Deluxe Edition" with 4 CD's, 1 DVD and 2 LP's. In late August 1970, Derek and The Dominos - Eric Clapton, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and Bobby Whitlock - convened in Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida with producer Tom Dowd to record "Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs." Following an invitation from Clapton, Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers Band joined in on the now-historic sessions. The band finished recording in September and the double LP was released that December. - more on this story
