The Decemberists Set New Album Release

(Gibson) The title, track list and release date for The Decemberists' new album have been revealed. The King is Dead will arrive on January 18 via Capitol Records. The band's last album, the rock opera The Hazards of Love, was released in March of 2009. The album features guitar work from Peter Buck, of R.E.M. fame. Frontman Colin Meloy has said that R.E.M. have been a huge influence on The Decemberists' music. Another group of alt-rock greats might have inspired the album's title – The Smiths released The Queen is Dead in 1986. - more on this story
