The songs from this album were all inspired by the research Count was doing for a documentary film he is directing called 'Manufactured'. Each song on the album addresses a different aspect of how our modern world is broken on an environmental, economic, and social level. The topics range from the distorted news media in the satircal song "Stephen Colbert", the exploitation of 3rd world countries in "Appearances", to the failure of the UN to stop genocide in "Far From Safe". Steering completely clear from being preachy, this powerful collection of songs offers a unique, abstract way of addressing how the most serious issues of our time affect us all.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Count [Mikael Eldridge] has been involved in just about every aspect of the music business. Working through the 90's in San Francisco at various record labels [Polygram, Verve, and Ubiquity], Count acquired a vast knowledge of the music business while continuing work as an engineer, mixer, and producer at San Francisco's noteworthy recording studio, Toast. In 1999, Count left working for record labels in favor of full time production work. Count has since worked as engineer, mixer, remixer, and producer with a number of noteworthy artists including DJ Shadow, Frank Sinatra, Radiohead, the Velvet Underground's John Cale, No Doubt, New Order, RUN DMC, The Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, Galactic, and many more. Most recently, Count has been completing new records with Galactic, DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born and doing remixes for Frank Sinatra, Low, the Bee Gees, and #1 billboard hit with a remix of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy".

After 13 years, Count left the band Halou after releasing their final album simply called, Halou. His new band, Inu, features guitarist Tim Hingston and cellist Zoe Keating. Keating's self-produced album "One Cello x 16: Natoma" (mixed and master by Count), has been #1 on the iTunes classical and electronica charts four times. She also recently teamed up again with Count for a series of commissions for the 75th Anniversary of the San Francisco MOMA in 2010 and a new album to be released in summer 2010.
