Widespread Panic Listening Party Announced

athensmusic.net and ATO Records will host a special early CD listening party for Widespread Panic's 11th studio album Dirty Side Down on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. during a tour and tasting at the Terrapin Brewery at 265 Newton Bridge Road in Athens, GA. The album is scheduled for release on Tuesday, May 25, 2010.Admission to the listening party is $15. The party features a live performance from Bloodkin – the well-respected Athens, GA band whose songs have influenced and been covered by Widespread Panic ("True to My Nature" on Dirty Side Down was co-written by Bloodkin's Daniel Hutchens and Widespread Panic)--a limited edition special Dirty Side Down release party pint glass for the tasting, 32 oz. of beer sampling for patrons 21 and older, the opportunity to hear all of Dirty Side Down and other classic Widespread Panic songs, and an exclusive opportunity for attendees to purchase Dirty Side Down CDs and vinyl prior to the official release date along with other Widespread Panic merchandise. Free brewery tours will be given during the listening party. Each person at the event will receive one free raffle ticket for special giveaways throughout the event, including signed items from Widespread Panic. The release party is planned for the outdoor area at the brewery. Food vendors serving pizza, bratwursts made with Terrapin brews, and other food will be set up with items for sale. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and folding chairs to enjoy the evening. Games are allowed, as are dogs on leashes, although dogs cannot enter the brewery at any time, even for rain. The listening party will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, the event will move inside of the brewery.
