Dirty South US Tour
05/06/2010
.
(Submitted News) DJ/producer Dirty South is about to take USA clubbers by storm. Commencing May 28 in El Paso, TX and ending August 8 at Lollapalooza in Chicago, the month long jaunt will take the Melbourne-based artist through the Wild West, Hollywood, the Jersey shore, Vegas, baby!, Metropolis, and of course, the dirty south. In addition to "The Russian March" (out now on Strictly), Dirty South is also prepping the May 5 release of his newest track "Phazing" – Pete Tong's "Essential New Tune" for April 16, 2010. The track is perfect for summer with an airy, uplifting vibe and it's sure to match (and surpass) the successes he's had with releases like "It's Too Late," "Let It Go," "The End" and "Alamo" or co-productions such as "Open Your Heart" with Axwell and "How Soon Is Now" with David Guetta and Sebastian Ingrosso. Dirty South's ascent through the dance music industry is an interesting story and a lesson in perseverance. Born in Belgrade, Serbia and relocated to Melbourne, Australia as a teenager, Dirty South's (aka Dragan Roganovic) first foray into DJing was by improvising with his old NEC Hi-Fi and mixing with the tape decks. Not being able to afford turntables, Dragan honed his skill making bootlegs and mashups before he was finally able to build a proper set-up. The first official production was released in 2004 and Dirty South was born. In short time Dirty South has been nominated for both Grammy and Aria (Australia) awards and won the "Best Producer" trophy at the 2007 inthemix top 50 awards. He currently ranks in at number 59 on the 2009 DJ Mag top 100 DJs list and has given the remix treatment to some of the most recognisable names in the music industry including U2, Snoop Dogg, Tracey Thorn, Depeche Mode, David Guetta and Josh Wink. In between his heavy touring and producing schedule, there has always been time to do a yearly mix CD, and Dirty South has put his name down to compilations for labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Toolroom Records, Cr2 and Sony/BMG to name a few.
