Loose Limbs releases its debut recording Red Hands, today, on Seaport Music Records, a venture launched this past December by the team behind Seaport Music Festival (SMF), the acclaimed independent music-oriented series staged each summer on Pier 17 in lower Manhattan.Available at Insound.com, the new limited-edition 7-inch vinyl release (250 pressed) features three tracks. The double A-side includes "Red Hands" and "Underdog," both recorded and co-produced at The Wild Arctic studio (Long Island City) with engineer/ producer Dean Baltulonis (presently producing The Hold Steady's latest record).
The flip side features a remix of "Red Hands" by Dublin-based musician and producer Martin Clancy, the current Seaport Music Records Artist in Residence, who is commissioned to "create, collaborate, and produce" a series of releases for the label in 2010-11.
The digital version is also available at iTunes and other online music sites.
All three tracks on the release can be previewed at www.SeaportMusicFestival.com, with the Martin Clancy remix of "Red Hands" available as a free download for a limited time.
Loose Limbs will perform at a special record release party on Thursday, May 6 at BruarLoose Limbs Record Release Falls (245 Grand Street) in Brooklyn. Slated for 8:30 p.m., the evening celebration also includes the bands Gost Trio, Imaginary Friends, and Matamoros. The band will also appear this summer (July 23) at the Seaport Music Festival on a bill with Free Energy and Best Coast.
