Monica, the Grammy Award winning songstress, will release her brand new album Still Standing on March 23 on J Records. The album is currently available for pre-orders at iTunes and Amazon with exclusive bonus tracks. Myspace premiered tracks from the album on March 20th.
The album's first single "Everything to Me," is currently #3 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Claiming the #1 spot on BET's 106 &Park for 8 consecutive days, the Benny Boom-directed dramatic video features Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and new Dancing With The Stars contestant Chad Ochocinco. In addition to "Everything To Me," which was inspired by Deniece Williams' 1980's hit "Silly" and produced by Missy Elliott and written by Jazmine Sullivan, Still Standing features a sole guest appearance by Ludacris and an A-list of hitmaking producers including Ne-Yo, Stargate, Jim Jonsin, Polow Da Don, Brian-Michael Cox. The album was executive produced by Monica and Cox.
On March 22nd and March 23rd, Monica will prove why she's still standing when she co-hosts and performs during her two-day takeover on BET's 106 & Park. Also on March 23, Monica will perform "Everything to Me" on CBS' The Early Show then head back to her beloved hometown of Atlanta for the album in-store/signing event at the Downtown Locker Room at the Camp Creek Mall from 5pm-8pm. Later that evening, Monica returns back to New York to join her fans and celebrity friends for NY's Power 105 official album release party at Arena. Monica will close out the whirlwind week with a bevy of events and appearances across the country.
Recently, BET took their viewers and Monica fans on a 12-week behind the scenes journey of Monica's life as she recorded Still Standing, her fifth album. Cited as the 2nd biggest debut in BET's history with 3.5 million viewers, Monica : Still Standing has been nominated for a NAMIC Vision Award, which honors original multi-ethnic and cross-cultural television programming. Winners will be announced during their annual ceremony on April 22nd.
