Icon Home Entertainment today announced the May 10th DVD and Blu-ray release of Sam Taylor-Wood's critically acclaimed rock and roll John Lennon film biopic "Nowhere Boy". "Nowhere Boy" perfectly captures the essence of John Lennon's teenage years and his introduction to music – from first band The Quarrymen - to his early relationship with Paul McCartney and George Harrison, all of which culminates in the formation of The Beatles and their historic trip to Hamburg.
Featuring a screenplay from Matt Greenhalgh (Joy Division biopic "Control"), "Nowhere Boy" boasts a wealth of British talent, including a career-defining performance from Aaron Johnson (Kick Ass) as the young John Lennon, plus outstanding BAFTA nominated Best Supporting Actress performances from Kristin Scott Thomas as Aunt Mimi and Anne Marie Duff as Lennon's mother Julia.
The DVD and Blu-ray release of "Nowhere Boy" is jam-packed with a dazzling array of bonus features; including director's audio commentary, extended interviews, deleted scenes and several exclusive featurettes, including "Lennon's Liverpool" and "The Re-creation of the Quarrymen".
Note: this was submitted by a UK PR firm, we could not confirm that this release also applies to North America etc. We'll try and track down that info and update you.
