Voodoo Terror Tribe Return with Symptoms Of Sin

03/07/2010
.
New Jersey hard rock band Voodoo Terror Tribe, a.k.a. "VTT", have released their third album "Symptoms Of Sin" with production assistance from Billy Graziadei, of Biohazard and Suicide City. Tour dates across the U.S. to promote the release are soon to be announced.

Formed in 2005 by Emir Erkal on the guitars and T-Bone on the drums; and later joined by Primer on the bass and Gil PZ on the vocals, VTT, the up-and-coming alt-metal band blazes out of the studio in 2009 with an 8-song release entitled "Symptoms of Sin". With Billy Graziadei at the producer's reigns, the new release showcases a band that has something to prove.

Emir, the charismatic guitar demon and true force behind the band, explains VTT's newest approach: "We know the scene, and the scene knows us, but we're coming at this a new way, in full force, and people are excited about the new voice." The "New Voice" refers to the newest member Gil PZ, a seasoned metal vocalist who recently relocated from Texas, having worked with bands such as Phonetica and Deviltry.

VTT doesn't bolster a false pretense of originality. Gil explains, "Worry about the songs being good first, originality comes second.".

"We've been in Billy's (Graziadei, "Underground Studios", South Amboy NJ) studio for a couple of months now, and the results have been great!" With the CD being finished, the band went on to record a video for the single "The Victim", which was recorded in the pipe-warehouse where T-Bone works. "Yeah, our drummer may have lost his job over that shoot, but it looks great!"

So what's with the name? As the guys explain it, VTT is still "Voodoo Terror Tribe", but the acronym better represents their new approach, and is iconic in its own way. The guys admit that none of them are actual practitioners of Voodoo. As T-Bone states, "While, in a way we're a tribe, the terms "terror, terrific, or terrible" don't usually apply."

Gil begs to differ; "To be a tribe, it would suggest we get along. For me, "VTT" is easier to spell, and makes for better graffiti. Not to mention secular! That's enough!"

VTT hail from the wastelands of the Garden State armed with a heavy-melodic, radio-friendly sound with provoking lyrics and a confident melancholy collection of art with genuine working-class tenacity that is sure to make waves and turn heads.
