Converge Releasing New Album Next Month

Converge will release their seventh full-length album, "Axe to Fall," on July 8th through Epitaph Records. Here is an announcement we received: There might not ever be another Black Flag, but bands like CONVERGE carry that banner of unique artistry and unrestrained ferocity. Formed during the rise and subsequent fall of the legendary Boston hardcore scene and experiencing numerous line-up changes, one has to necessarily highlight the captivating artwork and introspective lyrics of vocalist and visual design terrorist Jacob Bannon. Discussions about their musical canon appear to be complicated as almost every album is genre-defining. This has established them as trendsetters and innovators, setting new standards in hardcore and metal with each release, evolving from their thrash-inspired, hardcore-drenched beginnings to slower, more ominous and atmospheric works.
