Volbeat will return to North America this August for a two-week cross country tour. The tour will begin in New York City with an appearance on August 13 at the Gramercy Theatre, then the band heads to Canada for a one-off show in Toronto, and finally back to the States where they play throughout the Midwest before heading towards the west coast.
Dommin is the opening act on all dates. The Sleeping are direct support 8/13-20. Direct support for the West Coast dates is not yet confirmed.
Since the Danish metal quartet's formation in October, 2001, Volbeat has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene. In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice.
They recently entered in to a licensing agreement with Vertigo/Universal Germany, following significant success with Netherlands-based independent label Mascot Records. All three of the band's prior releases from Mascot Records have been certified gold in Denmark, while Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008) and Rock The Rebel/Metal The Devil (2007) achieved platinum sales.
On February 16, the long-form double DVD set LIVE: SOLD-OUT! was released in North America by Mascot Records.
