Product placement is nothing new to music videos so this story should be of no surprise to anyone: Diesel and Katy Perry have teamed up on her forthcoming "California Gurls" music video, to unveil the hottest custom made daisy-dukes the golden coast has ever seen! The "California Gurls" track finds Perry – who has just been named #1 in Maxim's 2010 Hot 100 List – raving about Jeeps, gin and juice, bikini-tops and daisy-dukes. The crystal-encrusted daisy-dukes she sings of and wears throughout the video are none other than Diesel's "Mintha 8B3" denim shorts, specially customized for the artist's highly anticipated video. With the help of Perry's personal wardrobe designer and stylist, Johnny Wujek, the 8B3 distressed indigo-blue wash was layered with more than 7,000 two-tone jewels, creating a one-of-a-kind daisy-duke masterpiece perfectly suited for the pop princess.
The provocative songbird, who sings about love, sex, Vegas, and making out with girls, flawlessly embodies the Diesel brand spirit – bravery and innovation, with a hint of defiance. Tune into the "California Gurls" televised video premiere tonight at 8PM EST / PST to MTV, VH1, MTV TR3s, and also at 8PM EST / 5PM PST on Logo and Teen Nick to see it on TV!
