The New Up announces the release of their new video single, Bitch, from their CD Better Off, to all video music media outlets nationwide. Better Off continues to chart and garner strong airplay across the United States and Canada since it was released in 2009.
The New Up releases Bitch as they complete their third studio effort, entitled Gold, which fulfills a trilogy of EPs. Gold is scheduled for a September 2010 release, and the band will launch their fourth US tour in October 2010.
Bitch, produced and directed by Hassan Said Films, was a 2010 AVA award-winner for Achievement in Cinematography. Hassan Said, a gifted young producer/director who cut his teeth in the corporate world working with NBA, Sprint, Haagen Dazs, Adobe, Yahoo and Chevrolet, had sought out The New Up after seeing, and becoming a fan of, the band's heavy rotation MTV interviews and performance clips and – ultimately - their previous video Arkansas, produced by Pile Driver Media of Danzig and White Zombie fame. With cinematography by Peggy Peralta and editing by Albert Lopez, The New Up's Bitch video was shot, produced and completed entirely in San Francisco.
