Iyaz will release his debut album, Replay, on Beluga Heights/Reprise Records this August. The album was produced by Beluga Heights founder J.R. Rotem, who has also produced scores of hits for Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Britney Spears, Sean Kingston, Jason Derulo, Rick Ross, and many others.
A native of the British Virgin Islands, Iyaz is at the forefront of the "Island Pop" sound - a brilliant fusion of rap, reggae, pop, and island vibes that has been popularized by fellow Beluga Heights recording artist Sean Kingston.
Kingston discovered Iyaz through his MySpace Page in 2008 and introduced him to Rotem, who saw immediate potential in the 23-year-old's vocal and songwriting talent.
In just a few short months, Iyaz has already seen his star ascend with the blockbuster success of his debut single "Replay," which soared to No. 1 on the Top 40 chart and the UK singles chart, and has been certified triple-platinum by the R.I.A.A. The track also sold more than 106,000 copies in its first week in the UK, boasting the highest sales for any New Year release since 2004. The prequel and regular versions of the "Replay" video, directed by Bobby Wan, have racked up 35 million views on Iyaz's Official YouTube Channel. His videos, including the clip for his second single "Solo," have streamed more than 55 million times on his YouTube channel. "Solo" is currently Top 20 on the Mediabase Top 40 chart.
Iyaz is also featured on "Pyramid," the new single from Filipina pop star Charice, which premiered on April 12th on Oprah.com. The track is currently at No. 2 on Billboard's Dance/Club chart, while the video has earned two million views on YouTube. Iyaz performed "Pyramid" with Charice on Oprah on May 12th.
